If you want to enable 5GHz Wi Fi on your laptop, you will need to have a compatible wireless adapter. For most laptops, this will be a built-in adapter. To check if your adapter supports 5GHz, you can go to the Device Manager. Look for the Network Adapters section and expand it. Find your adapter, right-click it, and select Properties. Go to the Advanced tab and look for the 802.11n Channel Width setting. If it is set to Auto, change it to 40MHz. If you don’t see the setting, your adapter does not support 5GHz.
