Best OBS Settings for M1 Mac for Youtube Streaming Video Quality (Featuring OBS 28)

  • by

Here are the best balanced settings I found for my MacBook Pro 14″ with M1 Pro if you’re tired of blocky, blurry streams or your cpu being maxed out. Requirements for best results for me were OS X 13 (Ventura – Public beta at the time this is being posted) and the OBS 28 builds that now feature native Apple Silicon support (M1, M2, etc). We’ll be using the integrated Apple VT H264 encoder and tweaking it to get the best balance of quality and performance.

Disclaimers – as of the time of this video, OBS 28 is in beta and Elgato has not yet released an updated stream deck plugin that supports it. Other third party effect plugins also are not supported yet until those people release new version….
