In today’s video, we have great news for those of you who have updated to iOS 16.0 – 16.1.2 on newer devices like iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, etc. Security researcher Ian Beer of Google Project Zero has released a new Kernel Vulnerability called MacDirtyCow proof of concept which is much more powerful than the initial one that was floating around.
The new MacDirtyCow allows one to even take over some of the iOS system daemons, which could be very useful for building jailbreak-like features on top of it. This vuln is already used in multiple tweak apps for iOS 16, such as Cowabunga.
