Yeah guys! this has been an issue in so many threads. Now Apple makes it easy to switch off the MacBook Pro / Air Screen when using an external display. Just use the built in display brightness buttons and go to super low. The last switch will power off the internal display. No more complex terminal code or system preferences work arounds – the only real way earlier was to close down the macbook’s screen to get that desktop / clamshell mode ???? thanks Apple. MacBook used is M1 Pro 2021 with MacOS Monterey 12.2.1
